Angela Watkins-Westley was born on June 1, 1970, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Janice Watkins and the late William “Bo” Woods. Angela was the second oldest of six siblings and was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, partner, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Angela attended Collinwood High School in Cleveland, Ohio. She later received her GED and Nursing Assistant certification through Dayton Job Corps, where she first met the love of her life, Phillip Wheeler.

Angela was a woman who found joy in the simple things in life. She loved cooking and sharing her food with the people she loved, crocheting, and spending time near the beach, where she could sit, look at the water, and simply think. She had a warm heart and a generous spirit, and sharing a meal she had prepared was one of the ways she showed her love.

Angela was a devoted mother to her two sons, Phillip “PJ” and Donte, and a proud grandmother to Laveah, Pharoah “PJ,” Kingston, and the late Deshauna. Her children and grandchildren were among the greatest loves of her life, and she cherished every moment she shared with them.

Angela was the shortest of six siblings, but the second oldest: Anthony (deceased) (Jeanette), Carmelita, Malinda (Jon), Michelle, and Charles. Though she was small in stature, her family looked up to her. She shared a special bond with her siblings and will forever remain a cherished part of their lives.

Angela also leaves behind her partner, Phillip Wheeler, who stood faithfully by her side during the last few years of her life. Together, they dreamed of growing old and enjoying their weekends going to garage sales—a simple dream that reflected the love, companionship, and happiness they shared.

Angela will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, siblings, partner, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched with her love and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her father, William “Bo” Woods; her brother, Anthony “Tony”; and her granddaughter, Deshauna.

Though Angela is no longer with us in body, her love will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, siblings, family, and everyone blessed to know her. Her laughter, her cooking, her creativity, her love for the water, and the memories she created with the people she loved will remain in their hearts forever.

Rest peacefully, Angela. You were deeply loved, and you will be forever missed.
